Rangel's Folly

It seems Representative Rangel once again wants to put forth his "draft everyone" proposal. I just posted this to Congress.org.

I oppose bringing back the military draft. I REPEAT -- I oppose bringing back the military draft.

DEMOCRATS TAKE NOTE: You have been given a limited probationary license by voters. Don't screw it up.

Some months ago, Representative Rangel advanced the idiotic idea that the military draft would somehow stop our military involvement in world affairs. Representative Rangel was apparently absent or asleep during those history lessons.

The Draft didn't stop WW II; it didn't stop Korea; it didn't stop Vietnam. And there will always be those rich and powerful who will find ways to send "everyone else" and still make it appear their sons and daughters are doing their duty.

Let's be perfectly clear. Do the job we, the voters, sent you to do and stop the political BS or we, the voters, will once again pull the plug on your political aspirations.
